6 Close Calls With Serial Killers

There are so many things in life that can happen without us expecting them to. When we're growing up, we go to school with people we assume are just like us. Just another ordinary kid, right? Then you grow up and learn that they became an actor/actress or someone who is just overall famous. Maybe you were good friends with someone or lived near someone who seemed relatively friendly, only to later find out that they were a murderer. Well, that's pretty much what happened to these people.

1. Reddit user mhelweg grew up in Poughkeepsie, New York. Between the ages of 12-14, his older brother became friends with a person named Nate.

Nate quickly became a close family friend, referring to their mom as his own and even taking mhelweg's sister out for a movie date. One night, "Nate" was arrested by police.

It turns out that Nate was actually Nathaniel White, who was later accused of murdering six girls. That's chilling.

2. As if one close call wasn't enough, reddit user mhelweg had a second one, this time with Kendall Francois.

Before he had turned 18, mhelweg lived two blocks away from Kendall Francois. He wasn't aware of the danger until Kendall was arrested upon police discovering eight corpses in his home.

3. Poor mhelweg, he has made the list three times. His third close call was in elementary school. It turns out that his history teacher was Albert Fentress, a cannibal murderer.

4. It was 1969 and Ava Roosevelt had just moved to Los Angeles. As an up-and-coming model, she had become close friends with Sharon Tate.

She was on her way to a party that Tate was holding, but she was having trouble with her 1955 Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn. Despite recently filling her tank, the gauge showed it as nearing empty, so she turned around and went home.

Ava later found out that Tate's party was cut short by the Manson family, who ended up murdering Tate and everyone else who was there.

5. Another reddit user, by the name of 2ndChanceCharlie, had a run in with Kendall Francois (yes, the same one from a previous story).

It turned out that Kendall was a teacher at his elementary school. Oddly enough, he was the teacher the kids reported to for lunch detention. Creepy.

6. Reddit user FromHereToParis was waiting outside of her workplace for a ride from her friend. Her friend's cousin drove up and offered her a ride, stating the friend would be late.

She had met him once, so she accepted the offer. As she was about to step into the car, she realized she had forgotten her purse. She then ran back inside.

Her friend then called her and told her she was on the way. She asked about the cousin and her friend went silent, eventually stating she only had one cousin, who was currently out of the country.

The "cousin" turned out to be a stalker. After a long police chase, he was caught and found to have murdered three other women. His car contained poisons, guns, chains, etc.
