Anyone who has served in the military, or has had a spouse or parent in the military, knows how difficult long deployments can be. These deployments are filled with a strong sense of longing for the loved one that is deployed, but also an incredible amount of worry. As a son of an Air Force veteran who spent more than seven months overseas during Desert Storm/Shield, I know first-hand what it's like to be away from someone you love for that long in an uncertain security situation. Luckily, for my sake, I was very young at the time and have a hard time remembering this period of my life. One thing I do remember is the amount of stress my mother dealt with and the number of happy faces she had to put on when times were tough looking after my sister and I by herself.

A new video that people keep sharing online truly characterizes how amazing it is to see your loved one after a long deployment.

In the video above, a father whose son in the Army was deployed for nine months at a base in Kuwait does something that will make your heart melt. Yes, literally melt it. The father, who happens to be a pilot, heard that some of his son's unit was going to be flying from Germany to Virginia. Taking a huge chance, he was able to be assigned to pilot this particular flight without knowing for sure that his son was on board. Let's just say this dad guessed right! What a thoughtful father!

You have to see this inspiring video for yourself. The moment that these two have is absolutely priceless.
