Meet Radamenes: the little black cat in Bydgoszcz, Poland, who has devoted his life to helping sick and injured animals at a local veterinary hospital.
His story is one of paying-it-forward. You see, Radamenes was, at one time, in desperate need of help from the very same animal hospital he now volunteers at.
The veterinarians at the clinic nursed him back to health, and now he's doing the same for other animals.
Radamenes can be found cuddling, massaging and even something cleaning other animals.
This is his story in photos.
When Radamenes was just two months old, he survived his respiratory infection because of caring veterinarians. Now, he helps other animals through their recovery stages.
Before this, he was so sick that many people believed he'd never make it. They thought his days were limited. That was last year.
It was a subtle purr that saved him. The veterinarians heard him purr and decided to continue trying to save him.
When he started to feel better, he also started to help other animals. He hugged and cleaned them.
He was especially attentive to animals who had had serious operations.
The veterinarians now joke that he's their full-time nurse.
But it's not entirely a joke, since he does indeed spend most of his time nursing the animals at the clinic.
He always has one paw on the job, even when he needs to tend to himself for a quick moment.
He'll stay with an animal as long as they need him. He's the best cuddle-buddy around.
But don't worry, it's not all work for little Radamenes. He gets lots of love in return.
This confirms it once and for all: black cats are not bad luck, they are totally awesome!
