People's pornography habits are very secretive and personal, right? So, what would happen if one of the biggest databases dedicated to those habits were to be hacked?
Well, as it turns out, PornHub was actually hacked by three people, who managed to access a fair amount of information.
The information obtained included usernames, viewing habits, and even the source code for the website.
To add to that, the hack allowed them to monitor every action performed by every user on the website,
but it gets better.
PornHub knows how sensitive user data can be, so they created a rewards system, offering up to $25,000 to anyone that could find any weakness in their website.
As it turns out, the "hackers," weren't actually hackers.
They turned out to be three researchers in pursuit of the reward put out by PornHub.
Since their hack helped add some much-needed security, PornHub rewarded them with a whopping $20000.
So for all the people whose information was at stake, relax. You're safe.
It looks like no one will be seriously hacking PornHub anytime soon, especially with this hole being patched up.
Well, it's looks like the world can go back to doing "nothing."
