14 Secrets You Never Knew About 'She's The Man'

Um, guys. Can you believe that She's the Man came out 10 years ago?! Things were so ~different~ back then! Amanda Bynes was the ultimate QUEEN of comedy and Channing Tatum had just started making everyone notice him with his looks. Even though it's been years since the movie came out, it still holds up! Who else still DIES laughing when Viola is teaching Duke how to talk to girls?! The movie is hilarious and here are some behind-the-scene secrets on what made the movie a classic! 

1. Jesse McCartney was actually supposed to play Sebastian because of how much he looked like Amanda Bynes!

WHOA. They seriously look related! Too bad he was too busy to be in the movie!

I bet he regrets it. There's no way he doesn't!

2. Amanda didn't know how to play soccer AT all before filming. The producers sent her to an intense soccer training camp for two months. And she ended up doing most of the playing in the movie! 

3. To transform into Sebastian, Amanda had to wear a wig, eyebrows, sideburns, a full muscle suit AND four layers of clothing. 

DAMN that's a lot to become a man!

4. Amanda was SO committed to the role that she and the director would literally visit all the malls and follow guys around to observe their behavior.

Did they just shop at Abercrombie & Fitch and buy Axe deodorant to really help Amanda get into character???

5. Apparently all the cast and crew were more comfortable with Amanda when she was dressed as Sebastian. Supposedly, they were quieter around her when she was just herself.

6. Remember that scene where Viola is on the street and trying to imitate guys? Those were done with real people and NOT actors! 

Omg I bet those people were SO confused. What's Amanda Bynes doing? I'm pretty sure I would've DIED if I saw her on the street!

7. In his audition, Channing actually did stick a tampon up his nose but he didn't know that you have to take off the plastic applicator first! 

8. When Duke walks into the shower room and hits Malcolm with his towel, Channing ACTUALLY hit James Synder in the eye! That reaction from James was 100% real!

9. A LOT of the funniest scenes were actually unscripted. Channing came up with the idea to dramatically open up his flip phone. 

So he's a babe AND naturally funny? Channing is bae! 

10. Channing said that the whole cast became BFFs. They used to hang out all the time after every day! Awwww! This is so cute! I hope they still keep in touch! 

11. Amanda actually came up with the title! Originally, the movie was going to be called Dude Looks Like a Ladybut she said nobody would pay to see a movie called that. 

12. David Cross came up with the idea to have the principal doing chores in every scene. Seriously, rewatch it and you'll see that his character is trimming bushes, mopping, etc. He also made up all his lines too! 

13. The actor that plays Coach Dinklage was actually a professional soccer player IRL!

14. The opening scene on the beach was actually filmed in Canada. All the actors were so cold and if you watch the scene carefully, you can see their breath! That's how cold it was!
