There was a time when EVERYTHING party-related had two people attached to it.
Redfoo and SkyBlu. But you might them better as LMFAO.I'd tell you what the letters for the hip hop-electronic dance music duo means but I'd get in trouble. They was hot but now they're nowhere to be found. What happened to them?
Party rock needed an anthem back in 2011, so the pair came out with "Party Rock Anthem."
And don't tell me you don't hear the song in your head right now.
Then there was "Sexy And I Know It" and, overnight, banana hammocks came back in a big way.
Big way wasn't a euphemism for penis.
But the last time they were both on stage performing together was during the Superbowl 46 back in February 2012.
Madonna was there too so it was a good day.
So what gives, I tells you? What gives?
Back in September 2012, after six years together, Stefan Gordy (Redfoo) and his nephew, Skyler Gordy (aka Sky Blu) broke up after supposedly drifting apart and going in different directions musically...
"I think that we naturally just started hanging with two different sets of people, two different crowds, but we're always family. He'll always be my nephew, I'll always be his uncle."
I mean that happens. They both branched off and started solo careers because they said they only wanted to come back together AFTER fans recognized their individual musical contributions.
They want the world to recognize that and then and only then will they want to come back together, "stronger than ever."
But that's NOT what Rick Ross said was the REAL reason they broke up...
He says it has to do with his lawsuit against LMFAO for allegedly lifting the lyrics of "Party Rock Anthem".
According to TMZ, Rick Ross said uncle RedFoo BOSSED around his nephew Sky Blu, and alleges that's what he's doing now in their legal battle against Ross.
But he may have a dog in this fight, so who knows?
In legal documents, Rick Ross wants to sit down with both members of the band but HE said (not me) that the uncle was keeping his nephew in the dark about the sit down to cut him out of the settlement.
The judge threw out Ross' case in court. But the lawsuit is still ongoing.
But then there was a what younger member of LMFAO said about his uncle on Facebook..
Sky Blu, who now goes by 8ky, called out his uncle for leaving the group him after he suffered a debilitating back injury. But who knows for sure? RedFoo hasn't publicly responded.
Apparently Sky says that Redfoo's lawyers said Sky gets ZERO LMFAO royalties now. But until they both come out and say something, all we have is TMZ's reporting which is journalistically solid the majority of the time.
And that sucks for 8ky because he needs that money to underwrite his album. I hope that if TMZ's reporting is correct, that they can both work it out.
8Ky accuses his uncle of also using their trademark party rock theme on his own solo album. Is it true?
And the saga continues... COMMENT and tell us what you think of their feud!
