15 Times Obama Was Just Being A Dad

Being a parent of two teenage daughters can't be an easy task. That job is likely made more difficult with the added responsibility of being president. Obama is seemingly a really great dad. He always spends time with his girls and everybody always seems so happy. He's not afraid to praise his daughters in public because, well, he's a proud dad! He also loves doing things like taking them out to eat, or for bike rides (under the watchful eye of the secret service, of course). These moments are important as any parent, and we definitely love seeing this side of Obama! 

Barack Obama is a busy man. Of course, being president of the United States will do that to you. Obama is also a husband and a dad. He definitely takes his fathering duties VERY seriously. 

When it comes down to it, Obama is a dad like any other. 

1. He adores his girls, Malia and Sasha. It's no secret that he loves spending as much time as he can with them. 

2. He brings them to the pardoning of the National Thanksgiving Turkey every year. They always watch with amusement  and sometimes embarrassment. 

Obama publicly thanked them for joining him, saying, "they do this solely because it makes me feel good, not because they think it's something I should be doing."

3. He takes them to college basketball games. 

4. His dating advice to his daughters was, "as long as that young man is showing you respect, and is kind to you, then I’m not going to be hovering over every second."

6. He joked that the reason he ran for re-election was so the secret service could cover his daughters for most of their high school days. 

7. He's down for getting snow cones with Malia whenever. 

8. He took his daughters on a casual candy shopping spree. 

9. He rocks his mom jeans on bike rides with Sasha. Note the amazing bike. 

10. Even though his girls are old enough to ride their own bikes, he still joins them and makes sure safety is a priority.

11. He was asked to speak at Malia's high school graduation. He refused and said he would be too overcome with emotion to give a speech. "I'll just cry and sit there," he says.

12. You can tell his girls love him as much as he loves them. 

If that's not a sign of a good dad I don't know what is.

13. He publicly sang "Happy Birthday" to Malia as she was turning 18 on July 4th.

14. He promised his daughters a puppy when they moved into the White House and held true to his word. The girls now have two Portuguese Water Dogs named Bo and Sunny. 

15. When he's with his girls, he never looks happier.
