The 11 Craziest Hollywood Divorce Settlements

There's a great rap lyric by a rapper named Mac Lethal that goes "I don't wanna cause a marriage/Cause I don't wanna cause a divorce" and as the years pass it seems to be more and more relevant. It seems like everywhere you look, your favorite celeb couples are getting involved in cheating scandals, surprise pregnancies and untimely divorces. Though I'm single and have never been married (give me a call, ladies!) I can honestly say that I think getting divorced has to be one of the most stressful things a person can go through. Considering the level of heartbreak involved, as well as the constant arguments about money and possessions, it just doesn't seem like a lot of fun. But don't take my word for it – these celebs were involved in some of the most ridiculous divorce settlements of all time!

1. Paul McCartney and Heather Mills

Sir Paul ended his marriage to Heather Mills in 2008, but not without a cost. He had to hand over a reported $48 million to his future ex-wife!

2. David Hasselhoff and Pamela Bach

When David Hasselhoff and his wife split up, she actually won the rights to his nicknames “Hoff” and “Malibu Dave,” as well as the catchphrase “Don't Hassel the Hoff.”

3. Madonna and Guy Ritchie

When Madonna decided to leave her filmmaking hubby, she quickly realized just how much of a dent it would leave in her wallet. Apparently the entire divorce cost somewhere between $70 and $90 million! 

4. Kevin Costner and Cindy Silva

The man of a million baseball movies (I literally just made that nickname up and I love it) split up with his wife Cindy Silva back in 1994 after two years of marriage. SO what does a two-year marriage cost? Well for Kevin somewhere around $80 mil. 

5. James Cameron and Linda Hamilton

The iconic filmmaker and his wife split up in 1999. When it was all over, James handed Linda a cool $50 million! 

6. Phil Collins and Orianne Cevey

Here's a riddle for you. What do you get when you divorce the guy who sings "In The Air Tonight"? The answer? $47 million. 

7. Michael and Diandra Douglas

Before Michael Douglas was seen strutting around with Catherine Zeta Jones, he was married to Diandra Douglas. But when that marriage ended, Michael lost much more than his wife. He also found himself losing out on about $45 million. 

8. Michael and Juanita Jordan

Being married to the greatest basketball player to ever live definitely has its upside, but divorcing him is even sweeter. Juanita walked away from that marriage with $168 million back in 2007. 

9. Dan Auerbach and Stephanie Gonis

Auerbach is most well known for being the lead singer of acclaimed rock group The Black Keys. He seems like a pretty laid back guy, but when he split up with his wife Stephanie things got pretty weird. She walked away from the divorce with $5 million, a home, a Toyota Highlander and a lock of Bob Dylan's hair. Nobody knows why Auerbach had it, but he doesn't anymore. 

10. Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards

Charlie Sheen has had his fair share of odd news stories, but none are odder than the one about his divorce from Denise Richards. Apparently she emailed their doctor insisting that she get some of Charlie's sperm in the divorce settlement. Um... what?

11. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver

What do you get for leaving big bad Arnie? About $250 million according to Maria Shriver. Not bad at all...
