1. Undershirt
Have you ever tried wearing a fitted sweater over top of a collared shirt, only to be left with infinite, visible wrinkles? Avoid this sloppy situation by wearing a tank top in between your blouse and sweater, which works to smooth out wrinkles.
2. Stick & Conceal
Even if a button down shirt fits you correctly, you may still be left with those pesky, gaping holes in between buttons around the bust area. Smooth and conceal those gaps by applying double-sided tape in between buttons!
3. Cuff Correctly
I can't get over how big of a difference such a small step can make. When wearing ankle booties, cuff your jeans to make your legs appear longer!
4. Tall Boot Trick
You no longer have to be limited to only wearing skinny jeans with tall boots! Simply fold the cuff of flared or baggy jeans, put on a fitted, tall sock, and voila! No more cramming fabric and uncomfortable outings.
5. Stop The Shed
Does your favorite fuzzy sweater shed to the point of no return? The night before you want to wear your sweater, put it in a Ziploc bag and toss it in the freezer overnight. This will encourage fibers to lock together, which will eliminate shedding!
6. Roll Right
If you've ever shopped at a J. Crew store, you may have noticed how all of their shirt sleeves happen to be perfectly rolled. Click here to find out how to get this cool, relaxed look for yourself!
7. Prevent Pillage
There's seriously nothing that annoys me more than when my knit and fuzzy sweaters start to pill. Resist the urge to pick the pills yourself and instead use a pumice stone or pill shaver.
8. Accessorize Appropriately
Sometimes it can be difficult to know which necklaces look best with certain necklines. Refer to this necklace and neckline guide for the perfect pairing every time!
9. Spray Your Tights
I've heard of using clear nail polish to fix runs in tights, but I had no idea hairspray could be a useful tool as well! Spray your tights with hairspray before you put them on to prevent them from runs and tears.
10. Tuck Properly
It can be difficult to style blouses with pencil skirts, as their high-waist nature can make it hard to tuck shirts in. Knot the end of your blouse, don't tuck it in, for a flattering look that's comfortable as well!
11. Cinch Away Shapeless
Shift dresses often have the tendency to make us appear completely rectangular and shapeless. Click here for the simple cinching tutorial!
12. Flat Iron Collars
It's extremely difficult to attempt smoothing out collars with a traditional iron. Fortunately, there's a simple solution! Just take a flat iron to your collars for an easier ironing experience.
13. Drape Instead
Although actually wearing your jackets is extremely functional, draping them over your shoulders is extremely stylish! Try out this fun fashion look before the colder weather prohibits it!
14. The Half-Tuck
If your outfit looks a little too prim and proper, all you need to do is adjust your tuck! The half-tuck is an easy way to instantly make your outfit appear more relaxed.
15. Belted & Beautiful
Never underestimate the power of a belt! Especially if you're wearing multiple layers, belting at your waist will instantly add some shape to your look.
16. Monochromatic
It can be difficult to know which colors look good together when it comes to clothing. For a foolproof outfit, pick one color and rock it head to toe but in varying shades.
17. Athletic Chic
Athletic wear can be super fashionable when worn correctly. The trick here is to not go overboard — think a pair of sneakers, sporty jacket, or relaxed hoodie.
18. Anything But Basic
Basics are essential in building every wardrobe. They include a pair of fitted jeans, a collared shirt, some plain tees, and of course, a simple black dress. You can instantly dress up any basics by throwing on a pair of heels.
