Why Ariel Winter Bailed On College This Year

Just like her character Alex on Modern Family, Ariel Winter is all brains and was accepted into UCLA. She just announced, however, that she won't be going this year. She has her reasons, and she's not giving up school for good, that's important to know. Still, we're sure it was a difficult decision to make, and we hope she's pleased with her choices!

Modern Family star Ariel Winter is definitely not a little kid anymore.

At 18 years old, Ariel has done a lot of growing up and just graduated from high school. 

Oh, and even attended prom looking better than ever!

And growing up meant having to choose a college or university to attend. Ariel posted on Instagram her acceptance to UCLA and wrote about how excited she was for her next adventure.

It made total sense because the University of California, Los Angeles was a perfect distance away from her Modern Familyset, so she could go to school and still work.

It all made perfect sense, right???

Wrong.

Ariel just revealed that her busy work schedule is keeping her from attending UCLA this year.

"Unfortunately this year, due to production schedule, I have to start next year," she explained. 

Ariel does have a busy schedule. Besides filming for Modern Family, she's also currently filming for Dog Yearsand is the voice of Emily Blande in the upcoming Disney series, Big Hero 6: The Series.
