After Brain-Farting On Her Insurance, Woman Hilariously Owns Up To It On Facebook

SHARE
We all brain-fart sometimes. You know how it goes — you do something that seems exactly right in the moment, but then realize it was exactly wrong and there's no excuse for the error.

The only explanation is that your brain just glitched in the moment, and now you're stuck with the consequences.

Most of the time you can just fix the mistake and hope no one else notices, but not 25-year-old Alyssa Stringfellow.

No, she decided to own up to her mistake on Facebook and ended up going viral for it.

It started when Alyssa was looking to save a bit of money in her budget.

One idea was to be added to her grandmother's car insurance account, so she gave her "memaw" a call.

Many car insurance companies will provide discounts for having multiple cars insured.

Memaw thought it was a good idea, so she told Alyssa that she'd give the agent a call.

The agent asked Memaw to have Alyssa send him a few things via email.

He needed her driver's license number, date of birth, and "a picture straight on and a picture taken from each side."

That evening, Alyssa asked her mom to help her take the photos.

They got the job done quickly and Alyssa emailed the information and photos to the agent right away.

Hard work done, Alyssa went about her evening knowing that the insurance process was underway.

If she's anything like me, she was treating herself for successfully adulting. Ice cream is my go-to.

Spot the mistake yet?

About mid-morning the next day, she received this email from the agent:

"Hi, Alyssa,

I am going to need pictures like you just took, except it needs to be of your vehicle. :)"

Yep, the photos were supposed to be of her car! You know, the one she was insuring!

And there was no hiding the mistake because she almost immediately received a text from Memaw.

“Alyssa Rachael, did you send him pictures of YOURSELF?! It was supposed to be of your car!”

Apparently, before sending the email to Alyssa, the agent called her grandmother.

The two of them had a good laugh about it before the agent let Alyssa know about her error.

Since she learned of it at work, Alyssa's coworkers also got in on the teasing.

But instead of hiding under a rock until everyone's glee wore off, Alyssa decided to share her story.

She posted it on Facebook, complete with the photos. She's definitely braver than I am!

She even admitted that both she and her mom had thought the request was odd.

But neither of them made the connection that the agent meant for her to take them of her car.

Now she's internet-famous for her super relatable brain-fart! We've all been there. If only we could be as brave and hilarious as Alyssa about it.

SHARE this with all your friends who could use a laugh.
