This Is How To Block Companies Tracking You On Facebook

SHARE
Social media is an amazing and extremely convenient invention. It helps us to keep in touch with friends and family that we may no longer live near, it can help us come into contact with people we may have lost touch with, and best of all, it helps us stay up-to-date on what people are doing. Sadly, it is also a double-edged sword. The reason for this is that people we may not want to keep tabs on us are often able to do so, and with frightening accuracy. While we often try to keep things private on social media, sometimes people can get a little more information than they should be able to. Companies are one of those we often try to hide from, but now we can find out which ones are keeping track of us, as well as how to block them from doing so.

First, find the arrow in the top-right of your Facebook account. Click it, then click "Settings."

On the left side, you'll see a list. Click "Ads." Once on the Ads page, click "Edit" beside "Third Party Sites."

When there, you will see an example of a Facebook ad. If you've liked a page in the past, it's possible that it will show your name in an ad your friend sees for that page (example below).

To change this, select the drop-down menu beside "Pair my social actions for:" and change it to "No one." Save the changes afterwards.

Next, go back to "Settings" and go to "Apps" this time.

You'll be presented with the apps that have access to your Facebook. Press "Show All" to see them all.

You can choose to either edit the apps permissions or just end them. Voila, you're safe from those companies!
