This Fan Theory Completely Changes The Ending Of 'Harry Potter'

SHARE
The Harry Potter universe took over the world since the very first book was released. I mean, it'd be really hard to find someone who hasn't at least heard of the series or read one of the books or seen one of the movies. JK Rowling has repeatedly said that there will only be seven books so that means the fans have resorted to filling in the blanks in the story with their own magic! Well, not magic. More like hours of careful research and analysis of the books! There are tons of fan theories out there about Harry Potter but this one is mind-blowing. It completely changes the end of the series!

In the series, one of Professor Trelawney's prophecies is very clear about the relationship between Harry and Voldemort.

The prophecy specifies that neither Harry nor Voldemort can live while the other survives.

"Either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives... the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies..."

One very smart Potterhead picked up on this and noticed that the prophecy meant something very different for Harry and completely changes the ending of the series.

Everybody seems to interpret the prophecy to mean that in the end, one of them will have to kill the other.

"What if it meant that the only way either of them could die, would be at the hand of the other? What if it means that the one who didn't die had no other means of achieving death?"

If Harry can only die at the hand of Voldemort who is already dead, then that means that Harry can't die!

So what does this all mean? It means that by killing Voldemort, Harry sacrifices his death! He's immortal!

It sounds kind of cool to be immortal, right? But not for Harry!

In the series, it's made clear that death is the only way that Harry will ever be reunited with his loved ones.

He'll never be able to be with Sirius and his parents!

Dying isn't necessarily a bad sacrifice to make. It's just that by sacrificing his own death and living forever would be the ultimate sacrifice for Harry!

He'd never be able to reunite with his family and friends. And most of them died to save him!

The only way he'd be able to see them would be in the Mirror of Erised!

So at the end of it all, Harry Potter would forever be The Boy Who Lived.

Doesn't this fan theory just hit you right in the feels?!
