In order to fill the farm-sized hole in my heart, I like to look at pictures of animals online. Kittens in planters, pigs in teacups, dogs being reunited with soldiers — you name it, I'm there. But I inevitably end up wanting more animals whenever I do this, which is where animal hybrids come in.
These little buddies are so cool and adorable, but there's no chance of ever adopting one. While I think that's a great feature, I also wish that they actually existed. Thanks for nothing, Monsanto.
Which of these hybrids do you wish you could take home? Let us know in the comments!
1. Hummingdile
This adorable little mashup of a hummingbird and crocodile would probably eat all the bugs in your garden.
2. Crabopotamus
While this little guy is adorable, he's also terrifying. Hippos are incredibly vicious creatures. Throw claws and the cover of sand in there, and you've got a recipe for disaster.
3. Shrimparoo
You'd be eating shrimp for days if you managed to catch this one.
4. Fennecowl
This gremlin lookalike is a cross between a fennec fox (aka the cutest animal in the world) and an owl.
5. Meowse
Where do I sign up for one of these?
6. Showl
Yes, that's what you think it is. On a related note, the showl looks just like the Abominable Snowman from Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer.
7. Emperor Panda
Cute, cuddly, and believable.
8. Gerbilla
This glorious mashup of a gorilla and a gerbil looks like it would escape from the cage and vengefully chew through all of your cords.
9. Squawk
I legitimately have not laughed so hard in a long time. Imagine this squirrel/hawk cross coming up to you in the park begging for food.
You're welcome.
You're welcome.
10. Shaggy Macaquelope
I wouldn't be surprised if I saw this one in Star Wars! It's a combination of a Shaggy Macaque and a Saiga Antelope.
11. Koaowl
This koala/owl mashup looks like a wise old soul who's also seen some stuff.
12. Catmeleon
What I wouldn't give to come home to this adorable catmeleon waiting for me.
13. Llamaroo
Would it spit on you, kick you, or both?
14. Turtlephant
While not perfectly Photoshopped, this turtlephant is definitely something I'd expect to see in my garden!
15. SeaRex
Finally, the crowning glory. With what we've already discovered in the depths of the ocean, it seems possible that the SeaRex is out there waiting for us.
Which animal hybrids were the funniest? Which ones creeped you out the most? Let us know in the comments!
