SHARE
There was a time when the Spice Girls ruled my life. I had the CDs, dolls, t-shirts and posters. And of course, I owned Spice World on VHS. That movie was my most prized possession. I used to watch it all the time! There are so many amazing moments from that movie. Remember all the celebrity cameos? The "Spice Up Your Life" performance? THE FASHION?! To celebrate this iconic movie, here are some behind-the-scenes facts all about how the movie was made!

1. In the photo shoot scene, the girls dress up as the same women that are sung about in their own song, "The Lady is a Vamp." They even take turns dressing up as each other!

They dress up as Jackie O, Charlie's Angels, Madonna, Wonder Woman, Sandy and Danny from Grease and Marilyn Monroe!

2. Itching to see the original bus used in the movie? You can! The bus is on permanent display at Island Harbour Marina on the Isle of Wight in England!

3. Meat Loaf plays the bus driver and he even made a joke about his own song "I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)."

When his character is asked to fix the toilets, he said he would do anything for the girls "but I won't do that." This movie is a gift to the world.

4. There are at least 11 amazing celeb cameos in this movie. There's Elton John, Alan Cumming, Hugh Laurie (!!!) and more!

5. The movie is actually shot in a similar style as The Beatles' movie A Hard Day's Night. Spice World's tagline is "You say you want a revolution?" which is a line from The Beatles' song "Revolution."

6. The pitch for "Spice Force Five" is actually an idea from the pilot "Fox Force Five" that's mentioned in Pulp Fiction

This movie has so many references!

7. When the girls discuss having the same dream, that's a reference to Nightmare on Elm Street

8. The movie was nominated for seven Razzies. You know, the awards they give out to the worst movies of the year. It only won one award: Worst Actress. And the girls shared it!

9. The writer of the movie, Kim Fuller, also wrote From Justin to Kelly. No wonder I have a soft spot for that movie too!

10. Originally, the bus driver was supposed to be played by Frank Bruno, the famous boxer. Unfortunately, he claimed that he quit the movie because his son wasn't allowed on set to get autographs from the girls.

11. There were several references to Princess Diana and Gianni Versace in the movie but they had to be edited out because both were alive during filming but passed away before the movie was released.

12. There's actually a scene in Fight Club where Spice World is seen on the shelf of a video store.

13. The movie actually passes the Bechdel Test because GIRL POWER!

That means at least two women characters who have names talk about something other than a man! It's amazing how many movies fail to do that.
